Reckon it’s pretty interesting seeing how Luxon’s corporate background in aviation and business shapes his approach to economic policy for Kiwi businesses.
Marcus Webb says:
His aviation background does provide useful operational discipline. Where I’d differ is assuming that translates directly to economic policy. Running a large corporation operates within different constraints than managing a national economy. Corporate efficiency measures sometimes create unintended consequences at scale that boards never face. Worth examining whether his policy choices actually reflect learnings from business or simply apply corporate logic to problems that need different solutions.
